Referral Bonus

Employee Referral Program

The Referral Program is designed to encourage Medical Center Employees to refer qualified external candidates who would be similarly committed to fulfilling Good Shepherd’s mission of creating a healthier future for the residents of Longview and the East Texas area. Good Shepherd employees who refer candidates could be eligible for a payout of up to $5,000 if the candidate is hired.

Bonus Payment

Referral bonus payment for the recruitment of experienced full time staff will be as follows:

  • This initial payment of half of the total bonus amount will be made after the referred employee successfully completes 90 days of continuous employment.
  • The final payment will be made after the referred employee has successfully completed 12 months of continuous employment, contingent upon the employee’s satisfactory performance evaluation.

Eligibility

  • All employees and medical staff of Good Shepherd Medical Center and its affiliates are eligible to refer applicants to participate in the program.
  • Members of Executive Management, Department Directors, Divisional Directors, and Human Resources recruitment staff are not eligible for a referral bonus.
  • Referral of a current GSMC employee to a vacant position does not meet eligibility requirements for receipt of a referral bonus.
  • Only designated vacancies are eligible for bonus referrals.
  • A list of qualified vacancies will be maintained in the Human Resources Department, accessed on the employment section of our website (Careers), or on the printed job postings board located outside the cafeteria.
