    Good Shepherd Medical Center has received the 2017 quality award rankings from CareChex® - an information service of Quantros, Inc. These rankings listed Good Shepherd Medical Center as #1 in the Market for Medical Excellence in Overall Hospital Care, Overall Medical Care and Overall Surgical Care.

  • Center for Bariatric Surgery Passes 150th Surgery

    The 150th patient of the Good Shepherd Center for Bariatric Surgery has had tremendous success after having a sleeve gastrectomy, or “gastric sleeve” this summer.

  • Good Shepherd Health System Selects Multinational System as Potential Partner

    Good Shepherd Health System announced today that it has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to become part of CHRISTUS Health, an international, Catholic, not-for-profit health system headquartered in Irving, Texas. The proposed agreement will improve Good Shepherd’s ability to meet the ever-growing health care needs of Northeast Texans through increased resources and innovative services.

    Good Shepherd Medical Center has earned re-designation as a Primary (Level II) Stroke Facility in Trauma Service Area-G by the Texas Department o fState Health Services.  The two-year designation marks Good Shepherd as a high-achieving stroke facility through October 2018.

    The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center.

    Good Shepherd Medical Center will provide free prostate screenings on Tuesday, June 21 at Medical Plaza III (705 E. Marshall Ave.) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday, June 23 at the Institute for Healthy Living (3133 Good Shepherd Way) from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

A unique balloon release will take place, as well as a candlelight ceremony. Those attending are invited to bring a photo or keepsake to be placed on a memory table.
