Service areas include:
Work-related injury care, including minor emergencies
Post-offer employment physical examinations
Pulmonary function screening: Occupational medicine satisfies OSHA requirements with the goal of early identification and treatment of pulmonary, or lung function problems)
Audiometric studies: The certified staff at occupational medicine can perform all audiometric evaluations so employees can be hearing tested to meet OSHA requirements
Vision screening: Occupational medicine can paint a complete picture of a company’s vision needs to reduce and help prevent on-the-job injuries
Drug and breath alcohol testing: All clinical personnel are certified to perform these test in accordance with all DOT regulations
Qualitative respirator fit testing
On-site services: Occupational medicine personnel have the experience to evaluate the design of the work environment
After hours services for DOT accidents
Good Shepherd occupational medicine is certified by the Texas Department of Health as a Yellow Fever Vaccination Center. For the business as well as the pleasure traveler, occupational medicine can administer the appropriate immunizations necessary for entry into certain foreign countries, provide medical kit advice, and offer information on medical care abroad.
Occupational Therapy Services
Outpatient occupational therapy services are provided to address the rehabilitation needs of persons who have suffered injuries to their hands and upper extremity. These injuries may include but not be limited to burns, fractures, nerve injuries, or partial or complete amputation of the digits. Occupational therapy services are also available to evaluate and treat neurological conditions such as the late effects of a stroke, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries.
