Our outpatient therapy services in Longview provide a multi-disciplinary care center that offers occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and sports injury services. Cardiac Rehabilitation at Institute for Healthy Living

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Team at Good Shepherd-Longview assists patients in developing an exercise program unique to each patient’s needs and abilities. During the regularly scheduled progressive exercise training sessions, each patient’s heart rhythm, heart rate and blood pressure are closely monitored and evaluated. Patients also receive intensive lifestyle modification and disease management counseling as part of their comprehensive cardiovascular risk reduction service. Cardiac Rehabilitation at Good Shepherd is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, reflecting their commitment to performing “best practices” each day to ensure the best possible outcome for their patients.
Cardiac Rehab provides patient lifestyle modification counseling consisting of:

Participation in cardiac rehabilitation does require a physician referral and is usually covered by Medicare and most insurance.

Speech Therapy Services
Speech therapy services include the evaluation and treatment of speech language and swallowing for all ages, including difficulties after stroke, pediatric developmental delays, voice problems and stuttering. Our highly trained therapists also provide the most advanced treatment techniques and specialized communication devices available.
Occupational Therapy Services
Outpatient occupational therapy services are provided to address the rehabilitation needs of persons who have suffered injuries to their hands and upper extremity. Occupational therapy services are also available to evaluate and treat neurological conditions such as the late effects of a stroke, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injuries.
