Sports Medicine at Good Shepherd Longview
Keeping athletes healthy and treating injuries

The Good Shepherd sports medicine program provides a variety of services to the community, including athletic event coverage care for community sports events such as softball tournaments, track meets and other types of sporting events. They provide athletic injury evaluation and on-site medical care to area schools districts as well as Saturday Morning Injury Clinics during the fall sports season for student athletes, when a licensed athletic trainer is available to provide game coverage during football season, and student trainer education and injury rehabilitation is pursued under physician’s order and therapist’s supervision. A complete gym is available for the rehabilitation of patients with sports injuries or reconditioning, strengthening and endurance training.

Good Shepherd sports medicine works with local physicians to administer and support the ImPACT ™ Concussion Management program with local school districts and colleges. In addition to the on-site care provided to local schools, the sports medicine program supports continuing education needs for athletic trainers and coaches through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association as a BOC provider of continuing education.

At the heart of our sports medicine program is a diverse team experienced in addressing a wide range of sports and rehabilitation health concerns. Each patient receives an individualized plan of care that promotes healing, health and wellbeing. Our goal is to treat the whole person, as well as the injury itself.
