Our experience in neurological care makes the difference. On average, Good Shepherd Health System treats more than 500 major spinal procedures and more than 100 cranial procedures each year. Our physicians use some of the most advanced techniques and technologies to treat neurological disorders in our industry. Through collaboration with other healthcare professionals we are able to provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach for the care all of our patients.
The care offered at the Neurological Institute is centered on the patient, leveraging the best technology and innovation for each individual problem. Advanced neuroimaging is available on site, and in conjunction with our Institute for Healthy Living, we can offer the most advanced therapy facilities, nutrition counseling, weight management services and other programs.
At Good Shepherd, neurosurgeons are using new and advanced technology in the operating room. Good Shepherd introduced the Curve Surgical-Navigation System in 2012 as the ultimate command and control center for information-guided surgery. Surgeons optimize navigation with pre-op planning and surgical visualization. The equipment is accessible at the touch of a sterile touch pen or the surgeon’s hands. The latest image guidance software powers advanced 3D displays and creates a navigation of the surgery site. This equipment is prominently used for spine, brain and ear, nose, throat procedures.
