Donating to Marshall
Donors Make the Difference
As a not-for-profit organization, our volunteers and donors are critical to the shared success of Good Shepherd Medical Center Marshall. A contribution to the Marshall Hospital Foundation, serving Good Shepherd Marshall, is an investment in the future of our hospital and, in turn, our community. Through a broad-based program of funding, the Foundation exists to promote the growth of the medical center.
Memorials and Honorariums
Have you ever wanted to do something really special in memory of a friend or relative, or in honor of someone important in your life? Memorials and honorariums are gifts that keep on giving.
Your will can provide an exemplary way to support your hospital and your community. We can provide the appropriate language to your attorney if you would like to include the Foundation in your will.
The Giving Tree
Contributions will be recognized on this beautifully crafted sculpture located in the entrance to the hospital. Contact the Foundation office at 903.927.6982 for details.
Second Century Society
We are extremely proud of the fact that we have been offering the Marshall community health services during more than 100 years of continuous operation. Individuals who wish to honor this history can contribute to our future as we continue providing health care to our community for another century. Members of the Second Century Society can make gifts that memorialize or honor friends and loved ones. Details are available in the Foundation office.
Sponsorships, underwriting and annual funding opportunities are available for a variety of Foundation events.
Red Dress Luncheon: The Foundation hosts a Red Dress Luncheon each February to focus on women's heart health awareness. Texas Bank and Trust has sponsored the luncheon since its inception.
Race to Wellness: The Foundation's annual benefit is held each fall at the Marshall Convention Center. For more information about Marshall to the Midway, please click here.
Polly Cargill Scholarship Awards
Brothers Jerry and Jack Cargill, who grew up in Marshall, established the Polly Cargill Scholarship Awards fund in 2003 to honor the memory of their mother. Awarded annually, the ongoing scholarship program plays a significant role in providing quality healthcare to the people of East Texas while making dreams of aspiring nurses a reality. Each spring the Foundation supports formal medical education through the Polly Cargill Scholarship Awards. The 2013 winners are Jennifer Hancock, Donna Malone and Debra Ware.
The 2014 Polly Cargill Nursing Scholoarship application is currenlty available online. Click here for more information and to apply.
Extra Mile Award
The Extra Mile Award offers an opportunity to express tangible appreciation by contributing to the Marshall Hospital Foundation in honor of a caregiver(s) who has “gone the extra mile” to provide care and comfort.
