2015 Race to Wellness
Rendezvous in Spain

Rendezvous in Spain was the theme of Race to Wellnes 2015. Held at Enoch’s Stomp Vineyards, guests were reminded of Old World castles and modern wineries. Set among gently rolling hills laced with grapevines, the evening showcased a dinner replete with grilled steaks and all the trimmings. Two hundred fifty guests braved the rain and generously participated in live and silent auctions, plus a Treasure Chest raffle, that offered added opportunities to support Good Shepherd Medical Center (GSMC) - Marshall.

Live musical entertainment by The Bluebirds featured favorites that ranged from classic country - including the ever-popular line dances – to blues, light rock n’ roll, and pop classics for everyone.

In keeping with the Foundation Board’s decision to designate event proceeds for purchase of a 3D mammography system for the Radiology Department, Christina Anderson spoke to guests about the importance of this equipment and what it will mean to the patients served by the hospital. She noted this is the preeminent tool for early diagnosis of breast cancer that will offer greater accuracy, more detail, and clearer images - thus providing critical information that physicians and patients need to determine the best course of treatment.

The highlight of the evening was recognition of past and present Foundation Board chairmen and chairwomen by GSMC-Marshall CEO Russ Collier. Recognized for specific accomplishments during their respective tenures were Diane Taylor, Patsy Ponder, Dr. Robert Palmer, Amanda Wynn and Dr. Ricky Paul.
