P00398-Summer2015-v1r11-web - page 3

Following a long winter and rainy spring, summer’s
finally here and in full swing, and that means a lot
more opportunities for accidents and injuries as we
spend more time in the great outdoors. In this issue
of the
Guardian
, we look at summer safety and Good
Shepherd’s emergency care when summer’s not so fun.
We also salute the extraordinary response of Champion
EMS to the deadly tornadoes that ripped through Van,
TX; look at GSMC’s Wound Care Center; and honor the
memory and legacy of Dr. Henry McGrede, “The Father
of Longview.”
If youhaven’t hada chance to try out GoodShepherd’s
new online scheduling tool, I’d encourage you to do
so. It can save you time and is a great way to schedule
your next appointment at Good Shepherd.
And even though we’re in the midst of summer,
it’s time to mark your calendars for two important
Good Shepherd events coming this fall–the Think
Pink Luncheon benefitting GSMC’s Breast Center
on September 29 and the 2015 Gold Rush event,
October 17. This year’s theme is “Rock the Rush.”
From the Good Shepherd family to yours, have fun
this summer and stay safe!
