  • Good Shepherd Health System Joins CHRISTUS Health to Become CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System

    Good Shepherd Health System (GSHS) has announced the finalization of an agreement to become a part of CHRISTUS Health. This agreement brings together two prestigious health systems to create CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System. This joining will allow the two health systems to work together to improve access to care for patients and expand health care services throughout East Texas. Most importantly, it will increase the capacity for health care, ensuring that the ever-growing health care needs of East Texans are met through increased resources and innovative services.

    Good Shepherd Longview's childbirth preparation class is designed to begin six to eight weeks prior to your due date. This four-week interactive class provides labor and delivery preparation for the pregnant woman and her partner/coach. Together you will gain knowledge of the birth process and be able to make personal decisions related to your birth experience. 

    May Class Dates: 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23

    Class registration fee is $75 per couple; must register to attend.

    Babysitter Lessons & Safe Training (BLAST)

    Babysitter Lessons and Safe Training (BLAST) teaches 11 - 15 year olds safe and nurturing babysitting techniques. During this four-hour course, students will receive hands-on practice in basic lifesaving measures, child development and age-appropriate activities. In addition, students will learn American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR training and basic first aid methods.
