How do I apply for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Good Shepherd Medical Center?
The program Selection Committee begins reviewing application through ERAS in September.
Does your program accept International Medical graduates?
Yes, we accept IMG’s as well as, US-IMG’s.
Does your hospital sponsor visas?
Yes, we sponsor J1 visas.
Do you require a residency candidate to be ECFMG certified at the time of application?
Yes, all IMG applicants must be ECFMG certified at the time of the application submission.
What are the USMLE Requirements?
We review all scores, but prefer a three-digit score of 200 or greater.
What are the key elements that your program look for in an application?
We review the USMLE scores, letters of recommendation, ECFMG certification and clinical experience. If IMG, some US clinical experience is helpful, but not required.
Is there a specific limit to the number of years since medical school graduation of the applicant?
No.
For DO applicants, do you require both USMLE and COMLEX scores?
We require USMLE and/or COMLEX scores.
