Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Good Shepherd
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a diagnostic imaging technology that utilizes a strong field magnet and radiofrequency waves to produce pictures (images) of internal organs and structures. Because MRI allows doctors to see inside bodies from any angle with great clarity, it gives them a wealth of information more quickly than past tests. Good Shepherd Longview has two 1.5 Tesla magnets operating daily, and Good Shepherd Marshall has the new Wide-Bore 1.5 Tesla magnet.
Good Shepherd offers a complete range of MRI services, including brain, spine, abdominal, breast, prostate and orthopedic imaging, as well as MR angiography (MRA). The MRI service is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
